05 — Audio Editing
The Audio Mixer
HF AI Video Studio supports a multi-track audio layer that runs alongside your video segments. You can layer multiple audio clips — voiceovers, background music, sound effects — and control each independently.
All audio clips appear on the audio track in the timeline, displayed with color coding for quick visual identification.
Importing Audio Files
- In the left panel, expand Audio Clips.
- Click Add Audio and choose a file from your computer.
- Supported formats: MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, AAC.
- The clip appears on the audio track at the current playhead position.
Recording Audio
You can record directly from your microphone without leaving the app.
- In the Audio Clips panel, click Record.
- Allow microphone access if prompted.
- Click Start Recording. The recording captures as long as you hold the session.
- Click Stop. The recording is automatically saved and added to the audio track.
Per-Clip Controls
Select any audio clip in the panel or on the timeline to reveal its controls:
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Volume | 0–100%. Controls the playback level for this clip only |
| Trim Start | Move the clip’s start point forward (skips the beginning of the file) |
| Trim End | Move the clip’s end point earlier (cuts the tail of the file) |
| Position on Timeline | Drag the clip left or right on the timeline to change when it plays relative to the video |
| Playback button | Preview the clip in isolation |
Splitting Audio Clips
- Move the playhead to the point where you want to split.
- Select the audio clip you want to split on the timeline.
- Click Split at Playhead.
- The clip becomes two independent clips. Each can be trimmed, repositioned, or deleted separately.
Removing Audio Clips
Click the trash icon on a clip in the Audio Clips panel or the timeline to remove it from the project.
Audio-Only Export
If you only need the audio output (no video):
- Click Export in the toolbar.
- Choose Export Audio Only.
- The result is an MP3 file saved to your configured export folder.
See Exporting for full export options.
