03 — Interface Overview

The HF AI Video Studio interface is organized into four main areas: the header bar, the left panel, the center workspace, and the timeline.

Header Bar

The header bar runs across the top of the app and contains:

Element Description
Duration display Shows total project duration
Playback controls Play/pause and fullscreen toggle for the video preview
Zoom controls Expand or collapse the timeline zoom level
Settings (⚙️) Opens the Settings dialog (API keys, cloud storage, export, license)
Version indicator Displays the current app version
Agent API Status Indicator showing whether the local Agent API Server is running (used for automation integrations)

Left Panel

The left panel is collapsible and contains all the major feature sections, organized as expandable panels. Click a panel header to expand or collapse it.

Video Segments

– Import video files or still images
– Set trim-in and trim-out points per segment
– Reorder segments by dragging

Audio Clips

Center Workspace

Video Preview

Displays the current segment or image. When playing, captions animate word-by-word in real time over the video.

Segment Sidebar

When a segment is selected on the timeline, a sidebar appears to the right of the preview with detailed controls for that segment:
– Trim start/end points
– Image overlays (add, resize, reposition, set opacity and timing)
– Transition settings (fade, dissolve, wipe; duration 0.5–2 seconds)

Timeline

The timeline gives you a visual view of your entire project from left to right.

Track Contents
Video track Video segments and images in playback order
Audio track All audio clips with color coding
Captions track Caption phrases with draggable edges to adjust individual timing
Overlay track Image overlays tied to specific segments

Playhead — the vertical line marking the current playback position. Drag it or click anywhere on the timeline to jump to that point.

Zoom — use the zoom controls in the header to expand detail for precise editing, or zoom out to see the full project at once.
