15 — Exporting

When your project is ready, use the Export button in the toolbar to render the final output.

Video Export (MP4)

Exports all video segments, audio clips, captions, overlays, and transitions as a single MP4 file.

Output specifications:
Container: MP4
Video codec: H.264
Audio codec: AAC
Resolution: Matches the source video segments

What gets rendered:
– Video segments in timeline order
– All trim points applied (only the trimmed portion is included)
– Image overlays composited at their configured positions, opacity, and timing
– Transitions rendered between segments (fade, dissolve, wipe)
– All audio clips mixed together with per-clip volume levels applied
– Captions burned into the video with the configured animation style, font, colors, and timing offset

How to export:
1. Click Export in the toolbar.
2. Choose Export Video (or it may be the default action).
3. The rendering process runs locally using FFmpeg.
4. When complete, the file is saved to your configured export folder (see Settings → Export).

Audio-Only Export (MP3)

Exports only the audio layer — useful for podcasts, voiceovers, or extracting a mixed audio track.

  1. Click Export.
  2. Choose Export Audio Only.
  3. The result is an MP3 file saved to your export folder.

Single Clip Export

To export just one video segment or audio clip for review or reuse:

  1. Select the clip in the Video Segments or Audio Clips panel.
  2. Click the Export Clip button on that clip’s entry.
  3. The clip is rendered and saved independently.

File Naming

All exports use an auto-generated timestamp-based filename to prevent overwrites:

edited_video_20260413_143022.mp4

Format: edited_video_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.mp4

Audio-only exports use the same pattern with an .mp3 extension.

Performance Notes

HF AI Video Studio uses FFmpeg to render your project:

  • On the desktop app (Tauri), FFmpeg runs natively and can handle large files and long videos without issue.
  • The rendering speed depends on your CPU and the length/complexity of the project. Captions and overlays add some rendering time.
  • Large 4K files or projects with many overlays will take longer to export — this is normal.
